Casa Muse Kastellorizo,
an exclusive whole 3 bedroom
boutique residence, filled with
the traditional island flavour of
Kastellorizo!
Welcome & Καλωσορίσατε!
Casa Muse was created in celebration of the fables of Megisti, and the rich tapestry that is Kastellorizo Island. I am the creator of Stories of Megisti, a series of children’s books and a Facebook community page, which brings together the social history, and culture of the island into magical stories told by the Muses of Ancient Greece.
The Muses graced the island and Casa Muse was fashioned into an exclusive boutique residence under the influence and beauty of the Muses. The design is taken from historical family homes located between Kastellorizo, Anatolia and Alexandria. The residence has three double suites with ensuite bathrooms, a private courtyard and two decks for relaxation and entertaining.
We have three suites with ensuite bathrooms, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. Each room can host two adults and a teenager. We have a communal bougainvillea covered courtyard with kitchen amenities. Our ground floor room is accessible and can be converted into a twin. We are pet friendly (small pets up to 5kg), and all rooms and communal areas of the house are non-smoking. There is a magnificent sky-deck with telescope for stargazers, and a courtyard retreat for relaxation.
Casa Muse was designed to impart a warm and welcoming spirit as soon as you step inside.
If you listen very closely, you will the hear the song of the muses on the wind. If you look very carefully you may catch glimpse of their halo or hear our resident owl, Apollo.
Casa Muse is located right on the main harbour of Kastellorizo Island, providing direct access to restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.
The island you see today is a magnificent blend of the old and new. Kastellorizo is the most south-eastern of the Dodecanese Islands, nestled up against the Anatolian coast. The island is accessed by regular ferry services from Rhodes or Kas, or by regular Olympic Air flights from Rhodes. Colourful neoclassical houses surround the picturesque harbour with its cafes and traditional restaurants.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax. On Kastellorizo you renew the soul whilst bathing in the magnificent waters of the Aegean or walking the thyme covered mountain to St George. You can feed your body with the delights of the Mediterranean diet, and you can refresh your spirit as you are embraced by an island lost in time.
At Casa Muse we are committed to protecting the island, keeping it clean, reducing waste and preserving the environment. Casa Muse is ecologically friendly, and we encourage our guests to be conscious of water and electricity use and to dispose of rubbish responsibly.
Unfortunately, there is no recycling or renewable energy yet on the island. Water is desalinated and the use of bottled water for drinking is advised. We at Casa Muse are trying to lead by example and encourage our guests to do likewise.
Stories of Megisti Kastellorizo is a series of didactic children’s books aimed at encouraging little people to learn the lessons of rich social history and culture of the island, to embrace the wisdom of the elders, and to embrace this unique environment. We bring together nature, history and mythology to introduce a new generation to classical literature and the place we love. You may purchase our books at Casa Muse, various shops on the island or online: www.storiesofmegistikastellorizo.com
